Why is Rhino 3D modelling good for designing sets? Meet the experts & find out for yourself!
Design Shortcuts is a series of informal, personal lectures by leading industry practitioners in different aspects of design for film, television and digital media which aims to extend the students’ professional network and develop their awareness of varying design approaches and professional practices.
So what is Rhino, and how is it being used in terms of Production Design for film and TV?
Rhinoceros - NURBS modelling for Windows - is a 3D design and modelling tool currently being used in set and prop design.
“The flexibility of Rhino allows the designer to make changes and look at the rendered product in a very short turn around time. Being able to show a director a complicated structure in a 3d model has become the industry standard. Rhino has helped the entire design process, from conception through pre-vis, drafting, construction and final execution.” Barry Robison - Production Designer (Dawn Treader, Wolverine, Nims Island)
