Post-event Synopsis
I want to thank Kym Seppelt-Deakin, Simone Burdon and Nick Lewis for giving their time and passing on their knowledge to the many that attended this years 'First Five Out', making the night a success. For those who did not attend or did not know of its existence missed one of the best learning experiences into leaping from study to full time work.
Kym started by giving his brief look at how employment within a successful studio straight out of study affected his way of life and how draining it can be.
Simone was inspirational, her drive and determination in knowing what she wanted while still being able to enjoy the comforts of her home. For all who have thought about starting out on their own you missed out on some important lessons.
Last to give a great nugget of advice was Nick. He focused on his portfolio and how it has evolved from a uni project into expressing his personality with help from a certain little pidgeon.
For all that missed this years opportunity don't let it happen next year, remember it's a free event aimed to help you.
