Deus Ex Machina – Dare Jennings and Carby Tuckwell (NSW)
When: 7th September 2009
Time: 06:00pm
The success of Deus Ex Machina is a direct combination of passion and design. Carby & Dare give their insights on how to create an engaging branded experience and why retail should use design to successfully engage customers. Deus ex Machina, a Latin phrase meaning ‘God is in the machine’, is the name Dare chose for this new venture and with a willing band of fellow enthusiasts Dare and Deus are now doing for motorcycle culture what he previously did for surf culture. It’s a strong mix of passion, design, functionality, practicality, fashion and pop culture, in a retail concept that allows the customer to immerse themselves fully in the brand.
Carby Tuckwell is a graphic artist, creative director and was a founding player in one of Australia's leading design companies, Moon Design. He's also a self-professed motorcycle modification addict. Dare Jennings is the founder of Mambo, started an independant import record store and recording studio and a keen motorcyclist, bringing influences from all over the world. Together, their pure passion for classic motorcycles led them to create Deus.
